Woodlanders Invited to Independence Day Events

City of Woodland News Posted on June 04, 2024

Plan a fun-filled Fourth of July by attending one of the many events scheduled throughout Woodland!

Note: With hot temperatures expected, gates will open at 7:30 PM (instead of 6 PM) for the fireworks celebration at Woodland High School. More info below.

Pancake Breakfast: The Woodland Professional Firefighters Association’s annual Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast will be held at Fire Station #3 (1550 Springlake Court) from 8 to 11 AM. Cost is $5 per person. Children five and under are free. Visit WPFA4029.org for more information.

Bike Parade & Family Celebration: The City is proud to host the traditional Fourth of July Bike Parade & Celebration for kids and adults. Decorating begins at 9 AM at Heritage Plaza (or bikes may arrive already decorated). Registration for the best decorated bike or scooter will be open from 9 to 9:45 AM. Prizes for the best decorated bike or scooter will be awarded after the parade down Main Street. The Main Street Bike Parade begins at 10 AM, starting at Heritage Plaza, riding down Main Street between 1st & College streets, and back to Heritage Plaza. After the bike parade, the party continues with live music performed by New Harmony Jazz, bounce houses, games, and free snow cones provided by Thompson’s Heating and Air.

Ice Cream Social: Woodland Senior Center Inc. will host the Fourth of July Ice Cream Social from 1 to 3 PM at the Community & Senior Center. Come cool off, enjoy refreshments, and be entertained by dancers and music. Cost is $2 per person. Raffle tickets will also be sold.

Swim Fest: A free swim fest will be held from 1 to 4 PM at the Charles Brooks Community Swim Center. Come jump off the high dive or try the exciting floating inflatable obstacle course. Bring your towels and sunscreen.

Fireworks Celebration: The pre-fireworks festivities will begin at 7:30 PM (not the traditional 6 PM) at Woodland High School stadium. The event will be scaled back to keep people out of the heat before the fireworks begin. While Rec2Go games will be available, there will be no bounce house or obstacle course. Following a traditional Color and Rifle Guard ceremony conducted by the American Legion and a performance of our National Anthem, a spectacular fireworks show will begin shortly after 9:15 PM. Please bring chairs or blankets to sit on the grass. No personal fireworks, alcohol, glass, or pets.

For additional information about these events, call (530) 661-2000.
