West Main Street Construction Schedule Update
On May 29th, the final lift of asphalt was completed on both the north and south side of West Main Street. Over the next few weeks, the contractor will continue installing electrical equipment for the traffic signal improvements and finalize striping of the road. It is anticipated that striping will be complete by July 2nd. The week of July 6th, the signals will operate on “flashing red” to allow for continued testing. It is anticipated that the signals will be fully operational the week of July 13th and the roadway will be reopened to traffic. More information on this project, here.

WELCOME TO WOODLAND! Center for Land Based Learning's farm apprenticeship headquarters completes construction of new facility in Woodland! We are thrilled to announce that the Center for Land-Based Learning (CLBL) has completed construction of their new facility, right here in Woodland. The new CLBL headquarters, which opened last month on the Clark Pacific Maples property between Road 113 and Cache Creek, is equipped with 30 acres of farmland, two barns (for farming operations, training as well as food packing and storage), the new Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Farm House with classrooms, conference and office space, and riparian habitat for restoration activity. This move to the heart of The Food Front community (Woodland's food & ag community) will open opportunities to expand existing education, farmer training, farm business incubator and restoration programs (which will help grow our next generation of farmers), as well as create new initiatives and partnerships with our local businesses.
Interested in learning more about CLBL's role in ag? Check out their Youtube channel here. Also, feel free to contact Mary Kimball (CLBL Executive Director) at: mary@landbasedlearning.org or Kathy Rightmire, (CLBL's Director of Development), at: kathy@landbasedlearning.org.

Fit Within reopens its doors after a full transition towards digital workouts during shelter-in-place Melissa Savala, personal trainer and owner of Fit Within, welcomed back her clients for in-person classes on Monday, June 22nd. Established in 2016, this gym offers class-based group training sessions consisting of full body strength training, circuit training and endurance training. When there are no classes in session, the trainers also offer private or semi-private one-on-one sessions. Like many of our business owners, the shelter-in-place pushed Melissa to make a quick transition towards digital. During the past three months, she held three live training sessions per week on Zoom and kept her digital followers engaged by adding daily home workout content on her Instagram page.
In an effort to support our community during these uncertain times, she also made her YouTube account public so that our community could benefit from free exercise videos to stay active and healthy. Check out her free exercise videos HERE. Located on 1st Street right across from City Hall, Fit Within is neighbors with Food Front partner, Purpose Nutrition Woodland, making it convenient to grab a smoothie after a workout or walk to Downtown Woodland boutiques and restaurants. Contact Melissa Savala contact@fitwithinwoodland.com and/or tell your colleagues about this local fitness center! #GOWoodlandLocal
