Save Water and Money with
Rain Barrels

Fall is the perfect time of year to bring new additions to the garden. To water your new plants, consider installing a rain barrel, which can store rain water for another day to use it on your lawn, garden or indoor plants. While California is still in a drought, collecting roof runoff when we do see rain can help reduce the amount of water that flows away from your property and saves money on your water bill.

The City of Woodland offers rain barrel rebates for up to 2 purchases for $75 each! Rebates for mulch, weather-based irrigation controllers, and compost bins are also available. Visit EnviroWoodland.org/Rebates to learn more.

Paper Shredding Event at the Community Center

The Woodland Community Center, along with AARP Fraud Watch Network and the Yolo County District Attorney's office are hosting a FREE paper shred event on September 28 from 9 am – 12 pm (or until the truck is full) to work together to combat fraud and identity theft.

After you drop off your documents for shredding, join us at the resource fair where we will be sharing information about our water conservation and recycling efforts.

Make sure to register for the event here.

Reminder! Green waste street pile pickups are still on a once-per-month schedule until Leaf Drop Season, which starts on November 1.
