Woodland is Saving Water for the Summer
Dry conditions and lack of precipitation present numerous challenges for water suppliers, but thanks to Woodlands investment in our water infrastructure, we are prepared.
Since 2014, Woodland has created three Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Wells to store
high-quality treated Sacramento River water in the underground aquifer. During times of drought, the stored ASR water can be used as a secondary water source for Woodland water users. The ASR wells currently have over 200 million gallons of water to help during this upcoming summer. While the City currently has an adequate water supply to help meet summer demands, water conservation efforts are still important to help ensure that these resources are being used as efficiently and responsibly as possible.
