Día de MuertosCada lunes de octubre de 5 a 7pm crearemos arte latino, especialmente de México. Ven y crea alebrijes, colchas, y más. Todos son bienvenidos. Celebra tu arte y tu cultura. Alebrijes are colorful depictions of animals based on the work of Pedro Linares and Manuel Jiménez and found in Mexico and other Latin American countries. On Día de Muertos, people honor their loved ones with an altar, or ofrenda, decorated with pictures, quilts, and other personal items. The library has plans for every Monday in October to learn more about these beautiful works of art, and how to make some in preparation for Día de Muertos. Each Monday in October, from 5-7pm, come make with us in Square One! This is open for all ages, and for anyone interested in learning more about the traditions, methods, and community surrounding Día de Muertos.
