Bulky Waste Drop-Off Event on April 27thMark your calendars for Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, as Woodland hosts its Free Bulky Waste Drop-Off & Recycling Event at the Yolo County Fairgrounds (use E Gibson Rd entrance). Woodland residents can take advantage of this one-time opportunity to dispose of bulky items at no cost. Accepted items include appliances, rigid plastics, mattresses, furniture, and more. Additionally, consider contributing to the reuse/donation area for items still in good condition that will be donated to the Big Blue Barn Thrift store at the Yolo County Landfill. Remember to bring proof of residency such as a WM bill or driver's license. No commercial customers. Gate will close promptly at 2 pm. Click here for more information. Prescription Drugs Take Back EventOn April 27, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM, the Woodland Police Department will be hosting the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at 1000 Lincoln Ave in Woodland which offers a secure and convenient way to dispose of expired or unused prescription and over the counter medications. By properly disposing of your medications at this event, you help protect our waterways and ecosystem from contamination and keep your family and community safe. All over the counter and prescription medications will be accepted including tablets, capsules, and patches. Any liquid medications must be tightly sealed to prevent spills. No sharps or syringes will be accepted at this event.
