Woodlanders are invited to submit Heritage Home and Historic Preservation Awards applications by Friday, May 16. Applications may be submitted at the Community Development Department front desk at City Hall (300 First Street) or emailed to CDD-Planners@cityofwoodland.gov.
The City of Woodland is known throughout California for its architecturally significant and historic homes. The Heritage Home Awards (HHA) and Historic Preservation Awards (HPA) represent an ongoing community tradition that publicly recognizes historically significant buildings in Woodland as well as the people and organizations that help preserve them.
The Heritage Home Awards and Historic Preservation Awards are purely honorary and impose no requirements of any kind on either present or future property owners.
Guidelines
Each year, the Planning Commission selects recipients from nominations submitted by community members. The awards are presented by the Planning Commission to the current property owners in an informal ceremony at City Hall.
Buildings nominated for Heritage Home Awards or Historic Preservation Awards must meet eligibility criteria, as outlined in the documents below:
Buildings nominated must meet the criteria of two out of three categories: Historic Significance, Architecture, and Recent Projects
