SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE
CHANGES TO WOODLAND MUNICIPAL CODE 8.20: AMENDMENTS
NOTICE IS GIVEN HEREWITH that the City of Woodland City Council, at its regularly scheduled meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, 300 First Street, City Hall, Woodland, CA, will introduce and consider the Ordinance as described below for adoption:
Eliminate the residential sprinkler system- resale inspection- Currently a requirement prior to close of escrow on all homes being sold with residential sprinkler systems, and eliminate the redundant fire alarm circuits section, that is now codified into the California Fire Code.
Section 901.6.4 – Resale inspections.
Eliminate this section as it has proven to be difficult for our residents to comply with during escrow, and there is no way for the inspection can ensure operation of a residential sprinkler system.
Section 907.6.2.1. – Fire alarm circuits.
Eliminate language that is now codified in the California Fire Code, making the ordinance section redundant.
The above summary constitutes the major highlights of the proposed Ordinance. A copy of the full text of the Ordinance is available at the City Clerk's office located at 300 First Street, Woodland, California 95695. Persons interested may appear before the City Council at the above date, place and time. If the City Council approves this Ordinance, the Ordinance will become effective thirty days after its passage.
